Practical Usage of Tooth Coloured Restorative & Prosthodontic Materials & Techniques in Everyday Practice
Practical Usage of Tooth Coloured Restorative & Prosthodontic Materials & Techniques in Everyday Practice
In today’s ever changing dental world it is hard for the conscientious dental professional to keep up with the current trends in esthetic and cosmetic materials, techniques and efficacy. Furthermore, the dental professional has to blend these with accepted, time honoured principles and methods whether this involves a single tooth or a full mouth restorative-prosthodontic approach. This evidence-based presentation will provide an outline and review of the above. The attendees of this program will observe:
1. essential diagnostic considerations
2. single tooth dentistry
3. adhesion update
4. composite update
5. porcelain update
6. multi-tooth dentistry
7. practice management considerations
8. concluding remarks and 5 major take home messages
The participants will immediately be able to apply the presented concepts to their practices to optimize their patients’ oral health.
Dr. Mike Racich is a 1982 graduate from the University of British Columbia with a general practice in downtown Vancouver emphasizing comprehensive restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and TMD/ orofacial pain. Dr. Racich is a member of many professional organizations including the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics, and the International Association for the Study of Pain. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American College of Dentists as well as a Diplomate, American Board of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Racich has published in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Canadian Dental Journal and has as authored the book: The Basic Rules of Oral Rehabilitation. He has lectured nationally and internationally on subjects relating to patient comfort, function and appearance and currently mentors the didactic/clinical F.O.C.U.S. (Fundamentals Of Creating a Uniform Stomatognathic system) study clubs in Western Canada.
